Here we are with new eco-friendly tips!
Want to get to know more? Then keep reading!
First Eco Friendly Household tip we have is to reuse, reuse and reuse!

  • Do you have an old tshirt which you don't want to wear anymore? It's not even donatable? Then cut it into rags which you can use for cleaning.
  • Use cloth napkins instead of paper napkins. Their benefit is, that they are reuseable through being washable and you do not have to go to the store often to buy new ones.
  • Keep pollution fighting plants in your home and office to keep the air inside your four walls cleaner as it already is. A good example for plants like this are ficus and pothos.
  • Try coconut oil for multiple purposes such as: moisturizing, shaving, cooking, makeup removal etc. It is a great addition to your household throug its multiple possible purposes.
  • Choose cotton swabs with paper or wood sticks instead of plastic sticks. The reason for this is, that paper and wood are both biodegradeable. Fortunately, many countries and factories are replacing the plastic sticks with the paper or wood ones.

Do you follow a few of these tips maybe unconciously already? Feel free to submit your experiences to us!

Ready for some #REDUCE, #REUSE and #RECYCLE TIPS?
Here we go!

• Replace plastic straws with metal or glass. If you're feeling extra adventurous, make sure to bring them to restaurants and decline plastic straws!

• Buy a reusable takeout container for restaurant leftovers!

• Buy local produce. This cuts down on pollution from transporting goods.

• Buy essentials in bulk to cut down on packaging and driving to the store and store them in reusable containers.

• Committ to having at least one vegetarian day per week. It takes 2500 gallons of water to produce a single pound of beef. 🙏🏻

Do you do some of these things already? Feel free to share your experiences with us!

11. MAY 2022!

This is the day, that Queens Raising Awareness was first mentioned in a local German Newspaper which has around 14.000 readers! 🙏🏻🌾❤
Its a big day for us and our small community.. ❤

The translation of the part which mentions us is as it follows:
"Jasmin Selberg started the "Queen's Raising Awareness" project. She connects her project with philosophy. "One never steps into the same river twice," she quotes the philosopher Heraclitus. What is wrong today can be right tomorrow - and vice versa. And "doing something is better than doing nothing," says the young philosophy student. Small deeds, big impact. With her project, she wants to advertise exactly this principle. Every person can become active with minimal actions in everyday life. For example in terms of the environment and animal welfare. "Just take flower seeds with you and scatter them on meadows or bare ground in the city center" or "always have treats in your pocket for animals that roam freely," says Selberg, explaining the possibilities of spontaneously and permanently supporting animals and the environment."

April was the month to start planting seeds, plants and bringing life into your garden!
Here with a beautiful native bird to #Germany! Our very own @JasminSelberg was starting the project to not only raise awareness for our worlds #pollinators but also to bring some life into her garden for summer. Now that almost a month is over, many different wildflowers started to grow bigger and bigger.

What a difference 4 weeks can already make! From just being planted, the wildflower seeds have just started to grow and grow! By summer we will have beautiful flowers and buzzing bees! Noticing, that there is a bumble bee nest below the ground means, that we are ready to provide them with food and work by then. 😉🐝🌾

What do you think? Would you recognise this place? 😉
Have you planted some new plants into your garden? We'd love to see it!

First Results..

Watching bees busily bumbling around among the flowers of a plant that you grew just for them is one of the most affirming, joyous experiences in the life of a gardener. 😉
Being aware, that not just pollinators have to benefit from your garden but also you, make this experience even better! At the one hand we already know that pollinator friendly herbs provide us with beautiful neon and unique flowers, edible berries and edibleness in general. So planting #herbs also means, that you'll get a free and organic crop of herbs that can be used for cooking, tea, and more. 🌾🌱

What we love about herbs is them being usually easily accessible by already buying adult plants in supermarkets or other stores, but also easy them being easily maintainable plants!

Let's list a few herbal plants which pollinators and you can benefit off well:

#Basil
Basil is an easy-to-grow plant with beautiful white flowers and a sweet, mild flavor that pairs well with salads, grains, and even pesto. Its ease of care makes it ideal for the beginner gardener.

#Peppermint
Peppermint may be one of the most beloved herbs in our kitchens. It tastes good, has a strong and fresh smell and has great healthy benefits. We love anything minty! Teas, Cocktails, Desserts!

#Lavender
Lavender has mild antibacterial and antiseptic properties. Plant it in your garden for a fresh, comforting smell and later use it in your closet as a natural moth repellent.

#Sage
Sage is known to relieve stress and anxiety and can be enjoyed throughout the day as a tea. Enjoy the benefits of this versatile tea today and every day by planting sage in your garden or flowerpot!

The world has so many different, beautiful and useful herbs! It would take a whole day to name them all! 😉 These are some if our favourites. Did you already have some of these plants at home? Feel free to share it with us!

Yours truly,
Queens Raising Awareness!

#THINKGLOBALLYACTLOCALLY

is a new Queens Raising Awareness Project dedicated to #Pollinators all around the world.

We aim to raise #awareness and contribute positively to our local environment and our very own local pollinators by planting flowers and especially spreading wild flower seeds on our balconies, gardens, yards, parks or even flowerpots.

Life usually tends to try to work like a seesaw. And it turns out, filling our gardens with flowers isn’t just a pretty pastime. Planting wildflowers helps to bring new life to the local ecosystem and can create huge benefits for our pollinators by providing fresh pollen and nectar.

The goal is to plant local wildflower seeds that which will bloom for a long time and are easy for bees and butterflies to forage for nectar and powder.

It is time to take action today. 🌸
Join us on planting wild flower seeds, so we can see and restore an abundance of beauty in our very own cities across the world!🐝🦋🐛

Feel free to take part of our little challenge and tell us how it went!

Yours truly!
QUEENS RAISING AWARENESS.

April 2022

"Does my home garden or nearby park really make a difference?"
The short answer is yes!

It is very easy to assume that wildlife is only found in wild and distant areas separate from people. And while those wild areas are critically important to many wildlife species (and the health of the planet) there are MANY species that can happily coexist alongside humans if we only make sure they have habitat within what we can call the "human dominated landscape" whether it be rural, suburban or urban.
It all starts with us people making sure there is a healthy native plant community which supports our pollinators in their habitats.

#QueensRaisingAwareness for #Bees and other #Pollinators is a project which we want to bring to life in this April, as its the perfect time to prepare our gardens and plant some seeds!

We want to promote the idea that all of us can plant native plants in our yards, on our balconies and neighborhoods to support birds, bees, butterflies, amphibians and other pollinators.

Our motto for this #Project is "Think Globally - Act Locally!".

And let's be honest! Planting a pollinator friendly garden to support pollinators is the PERFECT way to live the idea of said motto. 😉

More to be coming soon!

WE ARE BACK with "WHICH SMALL BEHAVIOUR CHANGES CAN HELP OUR ENVIRONMENT ALREADY?"

Todays changes are about reusing, repurposing, thrifting, anti-microplastics and showing kindness to little surprise roommates!

• Thrift shopping, upcycling, and donating are incredibly popular in the world today. People love getting rid of their barely used items, whether it's clothing, accessories, or furniture. By taking part in this cycle you help reducing waste by giving pre loved items or furniture a second chance.

• While shopping, look for materials that either do not release microplastics or release fewer microplastics than other materials. Look for materials such as cotton, flax, hemp, jute, and linen. 🌾

• Try not to kill bugs, spiders and other insects that might land in your home. While they might not be the most comfortable roommates, catch and release them rather than killing them. As every insect has its role in our world. 🪰🐝🕷

WHICH SMALL BEHAVIOUR CHANGES CAN HELP OUR ENVIRONMENT ALREADY?
(and might also save energy?!)

There are already several ways how we can improve our environment.
Let me list a few of them and might as well explain why. 😉

• Conserve power by plugging devices into a power strip and turning them off completely when not in use, including your computer. Trust me, your electricity bill will also thank you! 😉

• Air dry and save water.
Let your hair and clothes dry naturally instead of using a dryer.
And when you're washing clothes, make sure the machine is full.

• Cut your shower time and take less (full bathtub) baths!
Much more water is needed for a full bath than for a 5-10 minute shower. Of course everyone enjoys a bath from time to time, but exchanging one bath a month with an extra shower time won't hurt as well. 🙂

• Buy as little packaged goods as possible and use a reusable #fruitnet in case you need a bag to carry some fruit and vegetables.

• Use refillable water bottles and coffee mugs. With this you can reduce waste and maybe even save money in the café as many cafés give you a discount if you come with your own bottle or mug nowadays!

• Last but not least!
Don't feel afraid to reuse outfits! Especially on the internet we often see influencers not reusing their clothes which is why many of us always feel the need to follow the latest trends as well. The truth is: the internet is not reality and we only get to see, what people want us to see.

But what does it say about us?
Do we really need thousands of clothing pieces we will wear only once just to show people who don't know us... what exactly?

Reusing and repurposing is what we actually should aim for. 🙏🏻

A little more sustainability in our daily life shows that we care about our world and future. 🙏🏻

January 2022

Queens Raising Awareness was born in January 2022.
It started out as an Instagram and Facebook Blog.

November 2021
Jasmin Selberg at
The Miss Globe Beauty Pageant

Jasmin Selberg placed TOP15 at The Miss Globe Beauty Pageant in Albania and won Special Award "Miss Social Media". This is the award for best in social media.
She used her Instagram as a diary and took her followers, who mostly used to be people who aren't in touch with beauty pageants, with her on her journey.

Autumn 2021

Our Founder Jasmin Selberg competed at The Miss Globe Beauty Pageant 2021 and placed in TOP15 and won the Miss Globe Special Award - Miss Social Media for being the best in Social Media.
On this picture she is pictured with one of the many street dogs in Albania.

September 2021

Ever found a frog or a toad sitting on a road? Almost being run over by a car? Frogs like to wander the world mostly at dawn and night.. A lot of animals who are active at night tend to get overlooked at night time and therefore unfortunately killed. This lucky boy was helped to cross the street and was sat into a nearby bush so it can go on with its life. This small action, which may be meaningless to lots of people, changed this little toads life, as the probability, that it gets run over by a car was minimized by this small action.

August 2021

Love every animal the same, show every animal you encounter the same love. Here we see Jasmin Selberg pictured with a Jeju-Black-Pig, native to South Koreas Jeju Island. She met this rare pig breed while working in South Korea in 2021 while taking a little time off to explore the beauty of Jeju Island. While a pig may be considered a dirty animal by many people, Jasmin does not think this way. After all she says, that hands can be washed and washing machines exist.
So: She will never miss out to pet and communicate with an animal, which shows interest.

July 2021

Finding hungry street cats is sadly not rare in South Korea. Even better that there are convenience stores on every corner, to feed these little mouths and make their day a little better. As Jasmin Selberg would say:
True elegance is always accompanied by a warm and sincere heart. And nothing is more worth than love for one another. Animals love unconditionally and the trust they are able to develop in humans is incredible, whereas humans sometimes don't value it enough.
Never take your well-being for granted and help those in need, if you are able to do so. This is what makes the world a better place, just step by step.
And if everyone does a little good each day, there will be a lot of "good" at the end of the week.
And of course we always say, that we can't save everyone. But the least we can do is contribute to a better day. And that is definitely better than doing nothing at all.

As #MotherTeresa once said: "Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love." and "If you can't feed a hundred people, then feed just one."

Full Belly - Happy Kitty.

June 2021

Even insects and bugs deserve help.
Wandering the world with open eyes has been a thing Jasmin Selberg has already been teached from a very young age. While walking the streets in Korea she saw something black on the floor, which first looked like a piece of plastic. While going closer she noticed, that it wasn't just trash but instead a Stag Beetle which laid on its back! Not being afraid of bugs, she lifted the little beetle up and but it onto a tree so it can go on with its life.
If that isn't a good example of saving a small life!

The Start Of It All...

Small actions - great impact.
This is what I, Jasmin Selberg believe.
Being born in one of the most natural countries in Europe, Estonia, and growing up in one of the most industrious countries in Europe, in Germany, I for sure know that we have to maintain a balance in between humankind, animals and nature. Especially as humans, it is in our hands to make sure that this balance is being maintained. I am convinced, that each and every one of us can make a positive impact, no matter how small: an impact, is an impact.
Connecting my desire to make an impact with history and philosophy, I have learnt, that small actions which might seem meaningless to us as humans indeed have big echoes.
It is in our hand to influence possible futures.
And be it just the future and life of a snail.
